A girl’s take on The Bachelorette: “I told you so!”
By Sara B.
What can I say, I think I’m right about a lot of things but it’s not too often that I have written proof!
As a self-proclaimed expert on reality television, I would like to point out that I was completely right about the end of this season’s Bachelorette, based solely on one episode.

In “A Girl’s Take on the Bachelorette,” I specifically highlighted standout cutie Chris L., who seemed like the most normal person ever to appear on reality TV. I only picked out two potential winners in my article – Chris and Roberto. And what do you know, they were the final two.
As the weeks went on and Chris L continued to be even more normal and still crazy cute, he started to catch on. Message boards became a total lovefest for Chris L, with everyone wanting Ali to pick him.
I’ll admit it – after a few episodes, I changed my mind. I didn’t want him to win. Because I could once again see the future…. that Chris L. was destined to be greater than just a contestant on Ali’s gigglefest. He deserved his own show, period.
In the finale, it was a surprising move from Ali that made me like her more. Even though it came down to Chris and Roberto, Ali felt she couldn’t go on her final date with Chris because she was so in love with Roberto. Just as I feared, Chris L was crushed… but at least she did it in a nice way.

There was immediate outcry for Chris L to become the new Bachelor. I agree. Yes, he does seem too normal but imagine a whole season of this guy weeding through the crazies to hopefully find a nice, normal girl who can move back to Cape Cod and live with him and his amazing family. I predict laughter, tears, and real emotion – all the things
he magically managed to add to this season’s lie, cheat and tattoo drama.
Now there is the question of whether or not he’ll say yes.
The Bachelor franchise is too busy right now with the launch of their trashy spinoff “Bachelor Pad” to announce the new candidate. Note: Because I’m on vacation, I haven’t watched the premiere yet, which is being billed as a “Potpourri of Sex, Drama, Lying.” Good times.
When asked if he’d consider the gig, Chris told People that he was still thinking about it. “It’s something that I’d have to think long and hard about,” he said. “Just seeing myself on TV and talking about such personal things, it’s really hard to see that and have people know so much about me.”
Once again, a very normal thing for someone to say. He doesn’t consider himself a celebrity, which is also incredibly endearing. I can only hope that he signs on for the next season, because I’m cheering for the continuation of Chris L in my life. And I hope that I’m not wrong when I predict that he will be the next Bachelor.
Until next season…
